Off Topic - Computer/Printer help

Hello everyone

                Good friend of mine just bought the system listed below.  It 
seems like a great system, BUT, when you go to print something, a print 
window comes up on the screen, sits there for 24 seconds (ARG) then fills in 
the info, and finally actually prints the document.  Doesn't matter if the 
printer just printed or is in sleep mode.  Any ideas??

The Printer is a Lexmark 83X Printer, Scanner and Copier.

The Computer and Printer are joined through USB plugs.
