Hey Chris,

I recently installed XP on a new, 1.5 Mhz, 512 Mb machine, and did some
tweaking that even this computer illiterate was able to do easily.

Voila! XP is doing fine!

A Google search for XP tweaks will come up with a bunch. The ultimate that
I
found is: http://users.aol.com/AXCEL216/axcel216.htm

Regarding the internet, take a look at the Tweak Tester at:
http://www.dslreports.com/tools I'll bet your "Receive Window" needs
modification, and there is clearly listed a free download to accomplish
this. My upload/download speeds noticeably improved.

Hope this helps.

Stu
