Re: Bandwidth with Globex2 Terminals

PureBytes Links

Trading Reference Links

Unless a guy is really serious, or has a lousy ISP, the deal with

  Internet VPN connection $200/month
  GL WIN software-only $200/month

looks hard to beat. You would avoid the steep installation fees for the
dedicated line as well as the high monthly charges.

Now, if you could tie that data feed into TS..... :-)

GLOBEX2 users off CME’ s trading floors will be able to select the bandwidth they
desire – up to a T1 line – and pay fees commensurate with the size of their connection.
The array of bandwidth options will be available to those using the CME-provided
GL WIN front-end software solution, as well as those using other
independent software vendor (ISV) or proprietary front-ends. For all connections
established before December 18, 2000, the new network access fee schedule will go
into effect as of March 1, 2001. For all other connections, the new network access fee
schedule will go into effect as of January 1, 2001. Effective January 1, 2001, there also
will be a connection fee of $2,000 and a disconnection fee of $1,000. All disconnection
fees will be waived for connections established before December 18, 2000, if a request
to disconnect is received by February 2, 2001.

Monthly GLOBEX2 access fees for U.S. network connections are shown below. Pricing
for connections outside the United States remains at current levels until further notice.

Bandwidth United States
56K $1,000
128K 1,250
256K 2,000
512K 3,000
T1 5,000
Virtual Private Network 200

GLOBEX2 Terminals Off the Floor

GLOBEX2 users with CME-provided GL WIN workstations off the floor can, in addition
to selecting their desired bandwidth as described above, select either a GL WIN
bundled hardware/software solution as currently offered or a GL WIN software-only
solution. The monthly fee for a bundled hardware/software solution will be $400 per
user, and the fee for a GL WIN software-only solution will be $200 per user, effective
March 1, 2001. In lieu of a direct AT&T connection to CME, single-user GL WIN sites
also will be able to select a new Internet-based Virtual Private Network (VPN)
connection solution at a cost of $200 per month.
