Impost of daily data into TS2000

Dear All,

I would dearly like some help.

I have written numerous e-mail to Development and Tech Support at
Omega -with no worthwhile response. I am currently weighing up whether I
should write or explain in person explicitly where I think they should poke
both their package and their support! If it were not a 10,000 mile round
trip, the decision would be easy.

All of my UK data e.g. stocks, softs, options etc. is currently held in
MetaStock which seems to miss the point! In all, there is about 1GB of
data. I'm seeking to load UK market data into Global server on a daily
basis from ASCII file(s)
An excerpt of a typical file is shown below:

UKX2,FTSE-100 index,D,001127,6335.7,6397.5,6335.7,6374.7,0,0.
MCX,FTSE-250 index,D,001127,6565.8,6588.4,6565.8,6587.2,0,0.
DOWJ,Dow Jones,D,001127,10546,10546,10546,10546,0,0.
GBUS,Stg-US$,D,001127,1.4177,1.4177,1.4177,1.4177,0,0.
GBDM,Stg-DM,D,001127,3.2501,3.2501,3.2501,3.2501,0,0.
GBY,Stg-Yen,D,001127,156.7,156.7,156.7,156.7,0,0.

In principle these files can be constructed in any format, as I like to
think that I'm an able programmer. The response from tech support was that I
needed at least two records in each file. To update on a daily basis, it
will require some 11,000 individual files. Secondly, should one presume that
the loader can pick up the 11,000
files in one go. (The documentation does not make it obvious that it can.)

Whilst I can generate two days of data, one for yesterday, and one for the
day before yesterday, how do I inform the loader which exchange the data
belongs too e.g. LSE, LIFFE, LCE etc, is this just another other field?
When loading the custom symbol list, the documentation states that anything
beyond a ";" will be ignored, to quote the example in the
text- ABDR, NASDAQ; Abacus Direct Corp Thus, if this is literally correct,
how do we load the symbol description?

I hope I'm missing the point, because I can't help but feel that there must
be another way - MetaStock and other packages achieve this with consummate
ease.

I have looked through the SDK, and it is not explicit as to whether one can
use the server object to update the data base or not.

In TS4 documentation, there was hint of a .h file which explained how one
might construct one's own loader - but I can't see anything in TS2000 which
helps.

I have posed these questions to development support and had no response -
despite reminders.

Grateful for any assistance.
