If anyone has played a lot of solitaire on their computer, you may have
noticed the same phenomenon I have. There will be a period in which the
cards are good...most games can be completed, and there are some high
scores. Then comes a period in which the cards seem to go cold...most
games score low, and a good many can't be completed. This will go on for
a while, then the cards eventually turn good again.

Does anyone know why this happens? Is the Monte Carlo simulation an
attempt to quantize these phenomena in measured time cycles? If so,
being able to make measurements of this kind still doesn't necessarily
explain why these hot streak/cold streak phenomena occur. Does any of
this stuff have any real practical utility in trading?

Thanks,
Monte
