Re: Volume weighted average

The VAMA (Volume Adjusted Moving Average) is the most recent invention
of Richard W. Arms, Jr. (of TRIN fame). His most recent book, "Trading
Without Fear," is what the book is about.

There is also an explanation and step-by-step description of its
calculation here: http://trends-online.com/ind15691.htm under the
'Moving Average' heading.

Coding this thing is another matter, and I'm not sure there is enough
information on the above website to code it all the way through,
especially at the end.

A pretty good coder on this List took a crack at it a while back, and
got it AMOST to completion. If you want to have a look at the work he
did on it, let me know.

Monte
