I've been using it in Chicago (Mindspring/Covad)for the past three months
and have had no major problems. I would say it drops the connection about
once a day. I have had no problems with the PPPOE software that Mindspring
provides running it on Windows 2000, Windows NT w/SP6a and Windows 98 SE.
However, a Mindspring DSL tech suggested I try RASPPPOE, a freeware program
available at http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~normanb/ and written specifically
for Windows 2000 (but it works fine with the others). It's well documented
as an added plus. I can download at close to T1 speed (1.1+) and upload is
about a third of that. Cost is about $50 a month and I can't imagine having
to go back to a modem (although I've still got one installed if an emergency
were to arise...

Any of yall using DSL service from earthlink? If so how reliable is it and
have yall had any specific problems?
