Do you close TS2k before you run Diskeeper or do you run it while TS2K
is still on?
If it's still running, does it interfere with the nightly update?

switched to WINNT and use NTFS. SpinRite does not work under NTFS as
far as I know, but you really
don't seem to need it. NTFS seems remarkably stable. Just run
"Diskeeper" every nite to keep you
drives defragmented..
