Actually it was the change of the tax laws which allowed companies
to treat the capital gains of employees from stock options as salary
expenses and thereby make these companies virtually free of
income tax expenses while financing the salaries by the stock-
market.

Without the continous exercising of employee stock-options most of
the high-tech stocks would have their capital wiped out a long time
ago. Many of the high-tech stocks have huge tax-losses which they
can carry forward.

The question is when politicians will wake up and see that all these
"wonderful" "booming" companies do not pay a cent in taxes ? And
when will investors realize that they are directly paying the salaries
of employees and thereby cheat themselves ?
