Dear Group,

I recently ordered the above card, in the hopes that it would provide
some data-buffering for the data output from DynaStore and data input to
TS4, similar to the function that a Telcor T-Port card provided. I
installed the card in my computer (P3/500 running Windows 98 SE and
TS4.23), using COM3 and IRQ5 (it is not a "plug and play" card). I
loaded DynaStore on my second computer (a P233), and as a control, ran
the serial cable from the P233 to ComPort1 of the P3, set the TS4
DataServer to Com1 and loaded it successfully. I then changed the TS4
DataServer to Com3, switched the serial cable to the MultiTech card,
loaded the TS4 DataServer, and got the error message "No data being
received from data feed on Com3" and "Unable to synchronize the baud
rate at 19200 (or 9600)". I've done a lot of changing things around,
COMs, IRQs, baud rates, etc. but am unable to get the MultiTech card to
detect the incoming data, while ComPort1 does it effortlessly. I have
spoken twice with two different members of the MultiTech tech support
staff, and the last one verified, by using the Windows HyperLink program
in my P3, that my Windows program could detect and connect with the card
through Com3, and he finally said "I've done everything I know how to
do. I think it may be a problem with your application software (ie,
TS4)." At this point, I am out of ideas. Are any of you able to get
your TS4 DataServer to read incoming data through a MultiTech serial
card? If so, what's the magic formula???

Sincerely,

Richard
