I prefer a judgemental approach, but I have done my best to systemize (not
in EL) many of my discretionary behaviors by developing systematic
approaches to entry (for instance, triggering into trendline breaks after
three drives to a high) and initial stop placement.
Particularly in the case of entering a trade, the systemization of pattern
recognition (again, making my approach consistent) has made it much easier.
I don't want to have to make many decisions during the heat of battle,
particularly when the phone rings and one of my consulting clients wants to
discuss something beyond this exact trade.
