Some final thoughts - Mermer, Andy Etc

As I think about the fur flying that has occured, I'd just like to share some
final thoughts.

1st. No matter what your opinion of it posting someone's actual code
just plain isn't smart, and is of little value. Even posting a winning
system, is probably meaningless, as the number of people that would value it,
and actually be able to make use of it is small. I suspect if ETS had been
posted, the impact after the dust settled would have been nil. I entered the
fray, and posted my feelings, some information I had come by in an acceptable
manner, but saw no point in posting the code and said so. Even then I had a
private request for it, and declined. I had purchased something from ETS,
wasn't sure I got my money's worth, but with what I obtained I did. I see no
reason to give it away either. From a traders perspective there is no free
lunch, no magic system. Just hard work, lots of study. So even though its
maddening to see somewhat deceptive advertising, just beaware, if its sounds
to good to be true, it probably is. To me the benefit of all the code that was
posted here a while back is nil as a trader. To a newbie at Easy Language
there might be some benefit, in seeing the programming techniques.

2ndly. System Vendors should really take note of what happened here.
The biggest loss to me was to Mr. Mermer at his own hand. Had he ignored the
whole thing I bet the overall effect on him would have been nil. But he
jumped in on a list where lots of his prospective customers are watching, and
was very threatening. As a result, he saw detractors post and add to the
fray, with no supporters coming forth. This is not exactly desirable
advertising. System vendors, be wise enough to realize that these things
will happen, and don't react. You won't be hurt, and in fact a positive
reaction could elevate you in the eye's of the community and actually help
you.

I hope all parties involved have learned something, and can move on
in a quiet manner.
