Exasperated!

I'm exasperated!

In my quest for ACCURATE end of day data for NYSE advancing issues, declining
issues, new highs new lows, S&P 500, and the Dow, I now subscribe to three
data vendors,(Traders Access, Dial Data, Quotes Plus), and I check the NYSE
web site for data.

Imagine this, none of the four seem to agree on the numbers, (at least not
the adv, dec, NH, NL)!

I'll spare you all the needless details. My questions are:

1) How does one get accurate data?

2) How does one know that the data is correct?

3) Can anyone explain why there are so many "opinions" of what the numbers
are?
How do the data vendors come up with these bogus numbers that are supposed to
be "the most accurate in the industry"? Random number generators? If they are
all supposed to report the same number, why aren't they the same? How does it
get messed up?

Thanks for any insight.
