Learning Easy Language

Learning EL isn't a piece of cake - but it isn't as hard as - for example - getting
rid of all the fire ants in my backyard <g>. It's like learning any other somewhat
complicated skill - you start with easy stuff - and progress to harder stuff (e.g.,
if you were learning to cook - you'd start with burgers - and work your way up to
the pate with truffles - and you wouldn't expect to do it in a week). But there are
a fair number of people here who know how to do it - some are beginners - some -
like me - are intermediates - and there are a lot of advanced players. So if you
have an idea that you want to code - just tell us what it is - and I'm sure that
someone can help you.

If you're just starting though - stick with simple stuff - like moving average
crossovers - channel breaks - etc. - for a while. Which isn't as bad as it sounds.
I started out simple - got really complicated - and found that a lot of the simple
ideas worked better than the complicated ones. And - to give you a time frame - so
you'll know what to expect - I first started to learn EL in the beginning of 1994.
It took me about a solid year - maybe a little more - working 10-20 hours a week -
to become fairly proficient at it (and I had a lot of help along the way). OTOH - I
was learning technical analysis at the same time. Doesn't help to learn how to
write code if you don't have the slightest idea what you want to code. So people
who know a fair amount of TA will probably have an easier time of it than I had.

BTW - I think things like money management are important too. A good system without
good money management is like a hot car without brakes. Robyn
