Hello fellow TSers,

I am having a problem accessing the Historical CD data, and cant figure
out
why.
These are the steps i am doing, could someone point out if i am doing
this
wrongly or not.

   1. boot up the offline server.
   2. booted up the omega downloader,
   3. Went to the tools - Options, and clicked on Misc., then checked
off "Use
the
Omega Historical CD" then selected my CD rom drive.
   4. Then in the downloader i went to "Tools- CD Maintenance" and
checked
off
         " Add Symbols from CD"
    5. I then exit the Downloader, and Open up Tradestation Charting.
    6. In Tradestation, i go to File-NewWindow-Chart, and click on
Directory.
Then i
chose the Omega Downloader files in D:\CDData\Future drop down
list.
     7. I then pick SA1294 and click PLOT.
    8. Then i get formatt price data screen. In this screen, i notice it
says
DATE RANGE available 12/16/94 to 12/16/94 but on first date it says
1/16/93
and on last date it says 12/16/94. the compression setting is daily.
    9. When i click ok i get a chart that says S&P500 Stock index
daily,..
but in the chart it says NO DATA available.

I have read and reread the manuals, anyone know where i am screwing
this
up, or is this another TS unresolved bug. ( maybe no actual data on
these
CD's? )
I have also tried alot of the other choices that are on the CD for
other
futures, and all yeild me the same results. "No data available". Anyone
that
replies, thanks very much in advance.

I noticed that the directory that you mentioned you were charting from
was on your d drive. Is this your cd rom drive? If it is you are
accessing the wrong drive. You should be accessing the files that are
on c. For example, C:\omega\data\futures. The reason is that the data
on the cd is compressed. You cannot access it directly. When you go to
chart the data, look for the directories under c, if you don't see them,
click on new directory and then scan the c drive. If that doesn't work,
verify that you have that directory on your hard disk. If not, then go
to the downloader, click on tools, cd maintenance, and add the symbols
from the cd.

Let me know if you need further help.
