Hi Meta

Whether MetaStock is correct in painting that bar green is probably a matter of debate. What's fixed in stone is the fact that Equis will not change it. In setting the color of bars for candles there are only two choices, up or down. If you're unhappy with that  then you can do as I suggested and put your own color rules into an expert. My basic expert colors bars blue, yellow, red or white, based on moving averages for the first three and a narrow-range day for white. The moving averages mean that the default colors apply until the MA results are valid, but that's not really a problem.

Thank you Roy. Yes, the bar closed higher than the previous bar due to
an opening gap. However, according to OHLC data, the bar should be
red. Another charting package I have shows it as red. Is Metastock's
default way of working (bar is shown as green) correct?

other words, did the bar close higher or lower than the previous bar.
You can get the candles to plot in whatever color you wish by creating
rules for each color and applying them via an expert to the default
template.
