Barry,
I would do 2 things. First, copy the indicator formula to a word doc
and save the word doc to a disc. Next export the indicator to the
same disc. Store the disc in a safe location.
Next, export the password protected indicator to a file on your
computer. Delete the original indicator. Import the password
protected indicator back into metastock.
Another option to make it difficult for would be snoops to expose
your formula is to use formula calls in the indicator language and
make these password protected as well. Your indicator would have the
appearance of having many detailed formula when in fact it may be as
simple as a moving average.
