OFF TOPIC - file association/metastock

The internet links in my Metastock installation don't work.  i.e. under
Help/Equis on the Web, also the custom buttons.

I think the problem has something to do with Netscape (or now lack of it).
I'd been using IE and was fed up with it crashing every 5 minutes (I'm using
ME as well - bad choice, 98 1st edition was more stable).  Anyway, I tried
Netscape 6 and found that it took several minutes to load and didn't work
with several websites - so I uninstalled it.  Went back to IE.
I think Netscape modified what windows used to call file associations such
that executing an internet address defaults to running netscape.  It's this
that is causing the problem (just a guess).
Anybody know how to change the default program associated with a file type?
