Gene, I'm a P&F guy from way back. I have
subscribed to Investors Intelligence since '87, and I check Dorsey's CNBC site
daily. I don't sub to his full service though a friend does. We have an
arrangement whereby we send each other parts of services so I hear from
Dorsey in one way or another almost daily. What is your
interest?****************************
That is a very good service, very experienced
and knowledgeable. dorsey spoke at the washington conference, A money
mangager who uses his service is Kieran loughman, in Plymouth Mass,
who is a member (inactive) of the Boston User Group, and who spoke at the
Clearwater school.On P&F.1. Read Dorsey's book,
a good read even if you do not do the work.2. understand that the
basis for dorsey is investor's intelligence, chartcraft of New York.3.
FastGraph by the Hucks, Edgeware, has very nice PF graphs. reads FT data
directly, Kieran saw this product, and liked it. It changes box size
within the graph at the proper price points without having to be told what
to do. (at least I think it does, haven't used it in a long
time.)I am not expert with pF but familiar with it and understand
it. It is not perfect. A lot of people hate it, just not techy
enough. But it does work. and does give some very good
signals.*************************************
Gene, I first subscribed to Chartcraft about five years ago to
get the bullish% information on NYSE and sectors. About the
same time I read Tom Dorsey's book, he explained the bullish <FONT
size=2>% in his book and how he has used it for market timing. He say's it has
not failed him in 15 years, although he does not go
completely out of the market at bad times.
Dorsey has taken Chartcraft info into the computer world. For
years Dorsey served only the brokerage/institution markets
with his service at $500 + per month. He then introduced a <FONT
size=2>reduced service for retail(about 2yrs ago). The mutual fund point &
figure info is $25.00 per month which I don't use. This does
not include Bullish%'s, if you want those then you pay
another $10/mo, or total of $35/mo., which is what I pay since I want the
Bullish%'s. The stocks P&F are priced separately and I
don't remember that price. This is paid <FONT
size=2>quarterly.
I use the information for market timing of NYSE & OTC, and
to follow the turns in the Sectors, it works very well
for me and is worth the $35/mo that I pay for it. Sometimes <FONT
size=2>his site is slow and the updates were late sometimes. But they are
continually improving the service and these irritations seem
to be going away. I might add that he has a large service
business with the brokerage part, so he will be there and has sufficient capital
to keep up with the future. He has a lot more that I do not
use that might be of interest to you.
I suggest you read his book(someone has mine so don't have the
title) .
