It's hard to explain our signals or our system since everything is home
grown. We're contrarian traders who have been trading for over 60 years (we
have about 150 years experience between us and me with a 9 year old still at
home). :)

All I can say is we don't use any standard indicators. It's only recently
that we've been able to get our system to run in MetaStock. I can tell you
that everything we do is based on price and that our philosophy is that
everything is reflected in the price movement. We don't use volume or open
interest in our calculations. My brother does all the stock trading in the
family but only trades them in the direction of our signals. Since our
current signal means that we're shorting against our longer trend, he just
closed out all of the stocks and shorted some DIA, SPY and QQQ. This
effectively reduces our risk as opposed to trading strictly stocks.

Being contrarians we have a pretty good record of picking tops and bottoms
on the one hand, while also having to weather some large drawdowns. While
our system is recording record profits, we do have our share of losses. We
took a huge loss on our last short (our biggest loss ever, but at least it
wasn't our money since the 9 trades prior to that were all profitable).

Sorry I can't be more informative about what we do.

Guy

Guy,

Do I follow correctly; you still have an up trend in the S&P? Could you give
us the indicators you are using for this?
J.
