<DIV><FONT size=3> Another good up move in my portfolio
this week (summary table below). This is getting almost too good to be
true, but I sure am enjoying it <G>. I catch myself wondering if it
can last through the end of the year and I looked hard at the indices I follow
to find signs of weakness, but I couldn't find any. That means I'm going
to proceed as normal, but watch my stops closely. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3> Even with my CMB midweek pick, I
still have enough cash on hand for one more position before I'm fully invested
again. Since I added a large cap at midweek, I want to add another
Christmas Special. My definition of a Christmas Special is a small cap
stock that has fallen more then 50% from its 52 week high, still has decent
fundamentals, and is showing some signs of recovering. It should also have
a good story - a reason to believe that it will recover. My pick for this
week is MedPartners Inc (MPM). It's the US's number 1 doctors practice
management company. The story here is that it has realized that managing
doctor's is impossible <G>. It's selling or spinning off its 238
clinics with 13,500 associated doctors to focus on its prescription benefits
program, Caremark. Caremark provides group prescription benefit programs
by a network of some 53,000 pharmacies and also provides disease management
programs.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3> <FONT color=#000000> MPM at 4 1/2 is
in a Short Term Up trend Channel (STUTC) with the top at 6 1/2 and the bottom at
3 5/8. It peaked at 28 3/8 a little over a year ago and then went into a
tail spin to a low of 1 5/8 in early Sep98. It recovered from there.
It broke out of its Intermediate term Down trend shortly after that moving in a
sideways or horizontal channel (HC). It broke out of that HC a little over a
week ago which is a Trader Vic type buy signal. It then fell back into the
HC channel, but bounced off the bottom of the STUTC Thursday and made a strong
up move Friday on good volume. It now looks like it is poised to break out
from here. I also got a Tema PDI-MDI, Directional Movement buy signal in
early Oct. The fundamentals are acceptable with a good price/sales of 0.13
and a high debt/equity of 31 which should improve as the clinics are sold.
I'll open a long position Monday. I'll set the initial target just under
last years high at 27 and the initial stop just under the STUTC at 2
3/4.</FONT></FONT></DIV>

The tema and dema are standard features in ver 6.5. I think the more
pertinent question is: can someone give views on how to use dema and
tema profitably?
