Hello,

No you should not "cancel" save process.

The reason for slow down is probably the ANTI VIRUS that you are running.
Antiviruses are really bad when it comes to performance and you should
TURN OFF checking DATA FILES.
There is absolutely no reason for antivirus to mess with data (i.e. 
quotation) files.
Antivirus should ONLY check EXECUTABLE files. Consult the manual of 
antivirus
how to exclude database directories/files from checking.
