Hello,

If you have a good system going and you are happy trading solo there
is little need to form a team. However if you enjoy discussing ideas
in a private environment, i.e., in contrast to discussing them on a
public forum, then forming a team might be right for you.

In a group work can be distributed and more and better ideas/solutions
may surface. You can always learn from others. Relationships do not
necessarily become highly personal. I suppose it is not that much
different from traditional investment clubs, except perhaps, that for
AmiBroker users there would be a greater technical content. Of course
members may, in addition to the group effort, trade privately as well.

As in any human relationship problems may develop in groups. Changing
personal circumstances and/or changing interest may cause some members
to become less active or even pull out. This may result in one or two
members carrying the load and the team is likely to fall apart.
Sometimes new members can be brought in to try and keep the team
going.

I think trying to formalize groups too much is a destructive force. It
is much more pleasant to simple let time develop relationships. If
you take part in discussions on this forum you will, sooner or
later, start getting private emails. If you give a helping hand here
and there long lasting working relationships may develop without
even trying.

Best regards,
herman
