Well I completed my backfill and I have now mixed data fully backfilled. 
Not sure what happened before but by turning off backfill and running an 
exploration in both time-frames I can see the full extend of my 
historical data. 669-days Minutes, and 2698 Days of daily data. Perfect 
for all 1500 tickers.

The question remains: what is AB doing when I run another exploration 
with backfill turned on? It appears to take as long as before even 
though no new data is added.
