I've used the below symbol format for my IB account on an Intraday basis with a 1 minute, 5 minute, etc. setting within AMIBroker for the last 3 years:
USD.JPY-IDEALPRO-CASH
YM DEC 09-ECBOT-FUT
ESZ9-GLOBEX-FUT
CLZ9-NYMEX-FUT
Cut and paste them... Hope this works for you.
