Hi Joseph,

Brian was correct, I use SnagIt from http://www.techsmith.com/ . I have been
using it for about 5 years and find it superb. There is a small license fee
to use.

Cheers,

Gordon Sutherland

I think I meant Gordon. I liked the shadow under the arrow
in his screenshot.

I have been using Hypersnap for a while and got used to it.

Hello Joseph,

I think you mean moi!

SnagIt

http://www.techsmith.com/

SnagIt capacity is beyond what I am using.
The price is reasonable so it is worth it for the volume
that I am
doing.
For small volumes inbuilt screen captures are not too bad
e.g.
Windows and Paint - Vista has added a new feature to Paint.

At the UKB I did a couple of 'laypersons' posts on intro to
Graphics
and How to capture using Paint - just as a starting point
for
graphics capturing.

As a layperson with no prior publisning experience the main
trick is
finding away around image resizing that is the main cause of
the
grainy images that abound around websites.

If you don't rezize ordinary old Paint produces quite a good
shot for
sharing images with friends etc and non-commercial sites.

The main thing I use in SnagIt that Paint can't do is to add
a border.

WordPress, that I am using at the UKB, auto borders so you
get all
sorts of things, depending on the border in the first image
in a post.
I am a bit fussy about it and set a custom border but
depending on
what you are going to use your shots for often Paint is good
enough.
