I replied to this earlier but I think I was signed in under the wrong
ID so I'm not sure where it went (?).
I probably could use IB's bracket orders directly but I'd rather have
percentage based values rather than the hard-coded defaults that can
be set up in IB's Order Configurations. I'd rather have percentages
for stops, targets, trail values, etc. I'd also like to see my actual
buy price reflected in the bracket orders rather than the price that
was in effect when I started putting together my order.
So, although I probably could use the bracket orders directly and then
make several manual changes, I'd rather have the process automated to
make it less error-prone.
But I'm new to IB so tell me if any of the above is false or can be
"worked-around". I've also just been playing with this via IB's "paper
trading" so I suppose it might work differently in real trading (?).
