[amibroker] Is there any way to turn off the safe save feature of the editor?

I do not use the Amibroker editor, but need to syntax check a file
saved from another editor or close the pane and reopen it to
incorporate changes made in the other editor.  Frequently the
Amibroker editor will safe save with a 1 or 1 1 or 2 ... suffix which
is no longer synchronized with the file loaded in the other editor. 
It just infuriates me. Please tell me there is a way to force
Amibroker to always save back to the original file name.  I can't find
such a switch in preferences.
