[amibroker] Re: How to enter non-ticker data?

Thanks, Graham, I'll do that.:)

Apropos of the extraordinary system results posted here recently,
I've got to share this cautionary anecdote.

Last night, in preparing to enter my Consumer Price Data into AB, I
created a new ticker, "CPI." Obviously the wrong thing to do, since
it could easily be an actual stock symbol. And it is.

This morning, when I did my automatic download, I got "CPI" stock
data. Not knowing what to expect, I opened up the chart. "CPI", a
stock chosen absolutely by a random, off-the-wall mistake, would have
been both a great buy-and-hold stock for the past couple of years, as
well as an excellent long-only swing-trade candidate.

Moral of the story: When our favorite algorithms begin to look like
bullet-proof ATM machines, be careful not to confuse a bull market
for a great system.:)

Luck,

Sebastian
