AmiBroker Forum - Rules of Conduct (Version 1.2 Dated 13th December 2004)

( Note: Additions or changes to the previous version can be found in sections
marked with the following symbol '+' )

+ These AmiBroker related forums are here for you, the AmiBroker community.
In order to keep this a friendly and interesting place for all members, there
are certain rules that need to be followed. The rules apply to all communication
between members conducted using the AmiBroker YahooGroups mailing list and its
web site

These rules are not open for discussion and are NOT to be discussed publicly on
the forum. In the rare case that you require some clarification (before posting
a message to the list) please contact either the Group Moderator or the AmiBroker
Staff directly with your question.

1. No Spam: Spamming can be defined as either posting multiple times about the
same thing or starting multiple topics about the same thing.
There are other actions that are considered spamming such as constantly posting
off-topic as well as providing links that have nothing to do with the forum at
hand. Spam will be deleted without warning.

2. No slander or defamatory comments: Insults, bad language or anything
offensive will be deleted without warning if considered unacceptable by an the
Moderator or the AmiBroker staff. Content that is insulting to anyone based on
gender, lifestyle, religion, ethic group, race etc. is unacceptable and will be
deleted without warning. ( Treat others in your messages as you would like to be
treated yourself. )

3. No flame wars: There is no place for that on these message boards. Topics
that are designed to start a flame war (defined as an abrasive or an offensive
argument that serves no purpose but to make people upset) will be deleted
without warning.

4. If you are troubled with something somebody has posted in a thread, please
email the forum Moderator describing your concern and also if possible provide
a link or message number to the thread so that the Moderator can quickly locate
it. Please don't respond by posting a harsh rebuttal to a post that you find
disagreeable. This will only lead to an endless exchange of non-constructive
dialog that will not benefit the users or the forum. Any threads found to be of
this nature will be closed and possibly deleted immediately.

+ 5. Under no circumstances should any list member challenge publicly on the
list, the appropriateness of another members post for this forum. Any such
questioning or challenging must be made OFF LIST, privately, to either the
original poster or to the Moderator. In the end however, it is the Moderator
who will decide appropriateness. ( List members are urged to adopt a 'live and
let live' policy before complaining to anyone about any post. )

+ 6. Off-topic discussion: In general a subject is considered off-topic if it
doesn’t fall into the 'Main topics of discussion' category for this forum
(see below). Limited off-topic discussion, however, is allowed on this forum
provided it falls within the 'Allowable' category. If a topic doesn't fall
within either of these two categories it is considered off-topic for this forum
and should be taken to a more appropriate venue. There will be some leniency on
this as long as the subject is connected with trading or the stock market in
some manner. Postings that clearly don't fall within either heading listed below
will be closed, deleted or moved to an appropriate forum.

Allowable off-topic discussion must be of general interest and not primarily a
chat about home and personal matters between two members which would preclude
anyone else from joining in. It can be accepted ONLY IF the SUBJECT LINE of
your post contains one of the following prefixes. 'OFF-TOPIC:' or 'OT:'
(It's VERY IMPORTANT to insert the colon at the end to enable easy filtering
by mail clients).

Main topics of discussion:
- Using AmiBroker software (installation, usage problems, formulas, data
sources, help files, hints, tips, etc...)
- Trading techniques (using AmiBroker to implement the technique)
- AmiBroker web site issues ( locating information, searching archives, web
site problems etc… )

Allowable off-topic discussion:
- Trading in general
- Windows-based software problems (firewalls, data backup, anti-virus, etc) in
general
- Hardware issues (example: what hardware is recommended for the trading platform,
how to setup multiple monitors, etc)

All other discussion should be taken to a more appropriate venue.

7. No illegal topics: Warez, pornography, copyrighted material, etc. are not
welcome here and will be removed without warning. Posters of such material will
be dealt with on a case by case basis.

8. No impersonating: Attempting to pose as a AmiBroker employee, an employee of
any AmiBroker affiliate or any other registered user will not be tolerated and
will result in that member being permanently banned. This also applies to
variations of registered names.

9. We, the AmiBroker staff and the Moderator reserve the right to edit, delete,
or ban any content/member from these sites without warning.

10. We also reserve the right to modify these rules without warning.

11. By posting on the AmiBroker Forums you acknowledge that you have read and
understood the forum rules presented here. And, you agree to conduct your
business in the forums in complete accordance with all of the rules stated.

Failure to follow these rules will result in either moderation, a temporary
ban or a permanent ban, based of the severity of the offense at our complete
discretion.

These boards have become a central place for discussion of AmiBroker related
subjects. They are very important to AmiBroker staff as a direct conduit to our
user base. Please respect these sites and all community members.

Yours Sincerely,

AmiBroker Group Moderator
