I tried it, but the user interface was poor and I overwrote at least
three previous saved notes before I uninstalled it.

My recommendation is GoldenSection Notes @ http://www.tgslabs.com/eng/

I use it extensively for organizing AB forum notes.

It is not free, but is on sale at a temporary *special* price of $19.95.

Download it and make your own decision before paying the price.
