Hi Gang,
I just joined this group to keep up with some of the changes in
AmiBroker and thought I would toss out a few observations after going
through a few hundred posts.
1. Documentation is the weak link so far. Really dumb example is the
close pane button on the rh toolbar. Cant find it in the help files
and it is far from obvious which pane will be closed.
2. Lots of new features being added, but except for some clues found
in this group there is no documentation/help on how to use them.
3. This place looks more like a programmers hangout than a users
group. Lots of tweeks, links to other code, programming details, etc.
4. Speaking of links: Steve Wiser re: #1486, the Williams code is no
longer available on the link.
5. I have mentioned to Tomasz that user settings for back testing
need to be retained from one session to the next..no luck so far....
Also just mentioned that SAR settings and plot displays are not
working correctly, waiting impatiently for that fix. :-)
6. I really like AmiBroker in general. I find the ability to
backtest against a portfolio of stocks especially useful.
7. I haven't figured out how to make the explore filter happy
yet...what is it looking for as input?
8. Pardon my use of a handle, but I get way too much junk mail if I
use my real name and addr. Also I find people do not attempt to use
my trading ideas as some sort of holy grail with this handle. :-)
9. As you have figured out by now, I am not a programmer but I am a
trader, intermediate term, usually weeks to months time frame, always
looking for new ideas and techniques.
OK, end of ramble, looking forward to more user oriented posts in the
future.
